Iida Ringon

At the height of summer when Iida city holds their annumal “Iida Puppet Show Festival”, shouts of “Ringon, ringon, Hoi, Oina (come),” can be heard as 10,000 participants of all ages and walks of life form more than 100 dancing teams and parade through the streets of Iida. This nighttime part of the “Iida Festival” is called “Iida Ringon”. Each dancing team, called “ren”, wears their own original costumes and performs lively unique arrangements, to the delight of all.
