A village located in highland in the southeastern part of Iida City at an altitude of around 1,000 meters. From the nearby ridge, you can look down on the steep slope with maximum gradient of 38 degrees which zigzag steep slopes gather densely. Therefore, many tourists visit from spring to fall to see that special landscape. Mountains in the Southern Alps at an altitude of 3000 meters high unfolded before your eyes are also wonderful view, and the recognition of photograph enthusiasts is outstanding. “Shimoguri-potato” which is characterized by soft sweetness and small size is also popular.
The surrounding area including this village is called “Toyamago” and it is one of the leading tourist attractions in southern Nagano Prefecture.
